Setting up Dial-Up

In order to set up your Dial-Up properties, you will need to have an established account with and Internet Service Provider. If you already have an ISP, the following will assist you in setting up your Dial-Up properties for the 8 largest ISP's. If you don't have service with one of the major ISP's, you can use this information as a guide. Please be sure to contact your ISP to obtain this information.
Step 1:
Click on the Settings tab and then click on the Network & Sync icon.

Step 2:
Click on the services tab and then the Add button at the bottom of the page.

Step 3:
On the following screen, click on Dial-up - PPP and then click add at the bottom of the page.

Step 4:
On the next screen, you must enter your User Name and Password and then the phone number for the ISP.

Click on the name of your ISP to get a list of access numbers in your area code.

Mindspring
Earthlink
Compuserve
AT&T
Verizon

Step 5:
Then click the Network tab. Either leave the Auto-Detect box checked or uncheck it and add in the appropriate DNS entries.
 
 First DNS Examples:

 Second DNS Examples:
Please follow the instructions provided by your ISP.

Step 6:
Click the Proxies tab and if adding proxies, click the dropdown to select the appropriate configuration.
 
 HTTP Examples:

 FTP Examples:
Please follow the instructions provided by your ISP.

Step 7:
Once finished, click the OK button and then the 'X' to close the Network & Sync application.
