I'm
having problems sync'ing with Windows XP.
Problems usually arise with Windows XP because of improper settings for
one reason or another.
Try these installation checks and procedures after you have installed
the Intellisync software.
1) On the ZAURUS Go to the Settings tab Network&Sync-Sync
tab and verify the USB IP address is 192.168.129.201. Click Apply
2) Dock the Zaurus in the cradle (ensure the USB connection is in the
PC)
3) Go to Start-control panel-Network Connections. Verify that there is
a LAN CONNETION and that it is enabled for SL SERIES NDIS
5
4) Right click on the SL SERIES NDIS 5 and go to Properties. Under the
Advanced Tab ensure that Firewall setting is disabled.
5) Go to Start-All Programs-Accessories-Command prompt
6) At the command prompt type ipconfig . Verify that IP address
for the LAN CONNECTION # (which corresponded with SL Series Ndis 5 has
an IP address of 192.168.129.1
7) Type ping 192.168.129.201 . Verify you get a REPLY
from 192.168.129.201
Control-C breaks out
8) push the Syncronize button on the cradle
9) On the System tray right click Intellisync and go to Synchronize
(Make sure Synchronize options have been set)

I don't understand why the memory appears to be about 32 Meg. instead of 64 Meg.
Memory on the Zaurus is split into 3 areas:
16MB ROM area: This is non-writeable and contains the boot image as well as the PDA apps are stored for the Zaurus Linux OS. You will not be able to view this memory on any screen
32MB RAM Memory area: This is where applications are executed and where the Linux OS is loaded during the boot sequence.
Approx 8-14mb is used for Linux processes and Qtopia, the rest is allocated for program memory. At any given time most of that memory is "cached" and is used by running programs to improved speed. The cache is released when more programs are run. This memory is viewable by clicking the Information icon on the Applications tab.
32mb RAM Filesystem area: This is equivalent to hard drive space or the filesystem area where programs are installed and user data is stored. This memory is viewable by clicking on the Infomration icon on the Applications tab and then clicking on the Storage tab.

Why do my email attachments
not show up on my Zaurus after synchronization?
The current version of the Intellisync software does not support synchronization
of email attachments (see page 12 of Intellisync for SL Operation Manual).
Attachments can be transferred to the Zaurus by using the Intellisync
file transfer tool (see page 15 of Intellisync for SL Operation Manual).
The Zaurus EMail program can receive emails with attachments that are
received from a POP3 or IMAP mail server.

Why do
some of my email messages get truncated on my Zaurus after synchronization?
To conserve on memory, large emails are truncated when they are transferred
to the Zaurus during synchronization. Truncated emails are email messages
that only have the top portion of the email. The actual size of the
top portion of the email message that is not truncated is based on
the size limit setting. The original email on the PC is not truncated.
The user is notified when large emails are truncated during synchronization
and within the truncated email as well. The default size limit before
truncation occurs has a default setting of 4K characters. The user
can increase the size limit to a maximum of 100K characters in the
advance email synchronization settings.
To change the size limit
1. Select Start/Programs/Sharp/Intellisync for SL/Intellisync for
SL Launcher on the PC
2. Select Synchronization Options
3. Select Email, then select Advanced
4. On the General tab, enter the desired size limit. The maximum
currently allowed is 99999.

I am having
difficulty with synchronizing birthday or anniversary dates.
The current version of Intellisync software does not support synchronization
of birthday or anniversary date changes or additions from Outlook to Zaurus
when only the date fields are changed or added. If a change is made to any
another field (for example name, phone number, address, etc.) in addition
to the date change, the synchronization of the date change will be updated
properly. Also, the birthday or anniversary dates are not synchronized from
Zaurus to the PC, regardless of changing any other fields.
